And how that love helped a poor abused Shih Tzu learn to trust again.
When it was brought to our attention about a Shih Tzu in trouble these were the words that made the difference in his little life.

"Sebastian was abused and then abandon by it's owners. He was found in long island on a four land highland. He was blind and his eyes had been poked at. I don't know how he survived but he did."
"Hi guys, we went to see the eye doctor today for little Sebastian, and as we expected both eyes must be removed to stop the pressure and discomfort he is feeling. His eyes will be sewed shut after the operation. So I guess I will just let his hair grow over those little eyes and then all you'll see is a little nose and his mouth. I just don't want him in pain anymore. He is totally blind and in pain. This Monday we have to call and make the appt for the surgery. Hopefully after that he could finally start a new life. He's been vaccinated, neutered, bathed, blood works, which by the way showed he is OK."
"Good Evening my friends, been so busy with the little guy that I have not had a chance to write till now. I picked up Sebastian at 3:30pm from the hospital. The doctors said he is probably in less pain now then he was when he had his eyes. He is very bruised and swollen and cries. It just breaks my heart, but I know this is the best thing for him. He is on antibiotics and doggy aspirin. They put a patch on his neck to alleviate his pain, in 5 days I am to remove it and in 10 to 12 days we have another appointment to remove the stitches. Then he will hopefully be a new pup. since he was sedated I did a thorough check on his body and paws. I was so upset when i saw his nails have been cut so short you can see the dry blood vessels. Why are people so cruel to these little animals. No wonder he was walking so funny. He was probably in pain from that too. This little guy has been thru toooo much. It's time he had some peace and tranquilty. I can't wait till he feels better so I can start making him look beautiful, but first he needs to feel good and healty. He has gain weight already. I was so happy to hear that. Thank you for all the kind words and prayers."
"I haven't been on much cause I've been trying to spend a little quality time with him to show him I'm his mommy and I think it's working cause he comes to me now and wags his tail. That is a BIG step from the little pup that attacked me when I first got him. The pain he had to have been in. He is truly a sweetheart, has not growled or come at me at all. The swelling on his eyes have gone down and he doesn't seem to be in pain anymore. He sleeps thru the night and now has a big appetite. Knows when it's time to go out and has had very few accidents which we are really pleased with."
I sing to Sebastian and he now lays his little face on my chest while I sing to him, it breaks my heart as he sighs. His stitches are being removed this Thursday or Friday and then finally we can have him groomed. Now that he is no longer in pain, I just can't wait to give him a really good bath and a brand new puppy cut."
